Today in the City of Skopje was held a public debate for implementation of an energy efficiency project, which was opened by the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Environment of the City of Skopje, councilors in the Council of the City of Skopje, experts and members of the City Eco Council and interested citizens, within which the need for energy efficiency projects and installation of photovoltaic systems on buildings under the jurisdiction of the City of Skopje was presented.
– The benefits from the transition to energy efficient buildings are great, and the projects we are working on, like the one we present today, is something that the city strives to achieve, with the implementation of photovoltaic systems on buildings under the jurisdiction of the city and introduction of innovative systems for renewable energy sources, said Arsovska.
The mayor pointed out that such projects that the city strives to implement on a larger scale have a positive impact on the environment and enable its protection.
– We are starting with the facilities under the jurisdiction of the City of Skopje, for which we will undertake major activities to increase their energy efficiency, which will also be able to confirm their capacity for establishing systems from renewable energy sources with an energy certificate, said Arsovska.
At today’s public debate, which was attended by experts and interested citizens, it was concluded that such projects will not only protect the environment, but will make savings that in times of crisis, especially energy crisis, are welcome, because in the long run directly saves budget funds that can be used to invest in new innovative renewable energy systems.
