Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said Friday in a video message released by his government’s press service that the arrest of former prime minister Boyko Borissov shows no one is above the law.
As MIA reports from Sofia, Petkov said in the message that the European prosecutions is currently investigating the misuse of European funds and assets. But he asked where the Bulgarian prosecution was and whether it would finally side with the Bulgarian people.
- My role is to give full freedom to all bodies to act in accordance with their legal powers. No one should be afraid of the truth! Only without fear of the untouchables can Bulgaria really change, Petkov added.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister confirmed that he was questioned by the National Police yesterday, due to which the government session was postponed.
