Negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations ended at around 5 pm local time.

According to the authorities, the negotiations will continue in the coming days.

According to the adviser to Zelenski’s chief of staff, Mikhail Podoljak, the main topic of the talks was the discussion of the ceasefire in Ukraine.

“The Russian Federation and Ukraine have determined the number of priority topics on which they have decided,” Podoljak said, RIA reports.

The head of the Russian delegation said that the two sides had found topics on which reconciliation was expected. The delegations should return to their capitals before a new round of negotiations takes place, reports Sputnik.

The Russian delegation was led by Assistant to the President Vladimir Medinsky. Earlier, Vlodomir Zelensky’s cabinet said that “the key issue in the negotiations is an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from the territory of Ukraine.”

Recall, the negotiations were conducted on the territory of Belarus. After almost two hours, the two sides were late for the negotiating table.

The Russian delegation arrived in Minsk yesterday and waited for the talks to begin, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he did not agree with the talks on the territory of Belarus. However, after an afternoon conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, the plan was changed and Ukraine agreed to the talks.

The meeting was expected to start last night. There was information that the meeting had started, which the Russian side denied. After that, confirmation came that the meeting will take place today.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry released a photo of the room where the negotiations will take place early this morning.
