On December 8, 2021 the President of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, together with the Vice President of VMRO-DPMNE, Aleksandar Nikoloski met with Anke Holstein, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The current socio-political situation, the economic challenges and the country’s integration into the European Union, and the issue with Bulgaria were discussed at the meeting.

At the meeting, President Mickoski stressed his concern about the economic situation and the energy crisis, the consequences of which are the inadequate management of policies being violated on the backs of the citizens.

He underlined that the government does not have the capacity to cope with the challenges faced by the citizens and that the lack of credibility for decision-making imposes the need for early parliamentary elections as a way out of the crisis and resetting society.

President Mickoski reaffirmed the country’s commitment to get a date for negotiations, despite the fact that the government has not delivered results in the fight against crime and corruption. Macedonia must no longer be stuck in the waiting room of the EU and be a victim of the dispute with Bulgaria created during this government.

He underlined that any solution to the dispute should be within the adopted resolution in the Macedonian Parliament, which was submitted by VMRO-DPMNE and accepted by the parliamentary majority and which contains the red lines of the Macedonian state.
