I personally am for any project for the Republic of Macedonia, be it a highway, hospitals, local roads, etc., I want to support it, but this Law submitted by the MPs is too short and with holes and many things are missing. This Law should be reviewed and debated in the main commission for transport and communications, and the citizens should know that the Law will cost hundreds of hundreds of millions of euros.

This was stated by the MP from VMRO-DPMNE Vlado Misajlovski in the parliamentary debate, who asked for the Law proposed by a group of MPs, which should enable the implementation of the Memorandum signed by the Government with the company “Bechtel and Enka” as a strategic investor for the construction of highways Tetovo – Gostivar, Struga – Kafasan, as well as Prilep – Bitola, to be withdrawn, because he believes that many things need to be improved and that with such content will cause many problems in the implementation of projects.

This Law for the first time envisages construction through a new model without announcing a tender, which the government assures will give the fastest and most optimal results in the construction of the road network.

The proposed legal solutions regulate the design and construction of the infrastructure of Corridor 8 and the design and construction of the infrastructure of Corridor 10, as individual projects for capital investments of strategic national importance for the country.

According to Misajlovski, he asked for the law to be withdrawn, because he believes that many things need to be improved in it and that such content it will cause many problems in the implementation of projects.

– This Law should be seen in the main commission for transport and communications. Citizens should know that the law will cost hundreds of hundreds of millions of euros. Such an empty law with many holes will have many problems in the administration to solve only those current matters. Do you know how much trouble you will cause the administration by suspending these laws? If it is a strategic agreement, why there is no international agreement between two countries, there is no international agreement, although there is a Memorandum of Cooperation. I personally am for any project for the Republic of Macedonia, be it a highway, hospitals, local roads, etc., I want to support it, but the Law itself submitted by the MPs is too short and with holes and many things are missing, said Misajlovski and highlighted the biggest problem according to him:

“The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that this law will allow the formation of a Committee to be formed by the Government and it will last for a while until the price is agreed, all current activities between the contractor and the investor and then it will disappear, there will be no. That is wrong. The law should be reviewed by the Transport Commission. To open a more transparent debate. Nobody in this country is against projects, but this law is not good and needs to be improved very, very, very much. “The law goes to the Commission for financing the budget, and at least this law is about finance.”

He pointed out that the Law does not say by which standards this project will be realized and that it says “with a unique way of building”.

– What is that unique way, should be explained because after the institutions will face problems. There is nothing in the law, how the subcontractors will be selected, what percentage will be Macedonian workers, Misjalovski underlined.
