The football national team of Macedonia today at 6 pm in Amsterdam plays its last match of EURO 2020 against the national team of the Netherlands.

This was a historic first appearance for our national team at the European Championship, and although we failed in the first two matches, it should certainly not be experienced as a disappointment, given the fact that we debuted in a major competition as an independent country.

These guys made us proud in every sense of the word, and for the first time, we felt the football euphoria of a big competition. Macedonia lost both matches to Austria 3-1 and Ukraine 2-1 and it remains only to play the match with the Netherlands for the end of EURO 2020 for prestige and to play for the captain Goran Pandev who will wear the national jersey for the last time, Goran Pandev made his debut in 2001 and so far he has played in 122 matches for Macedonia and scored 38 goals.

Behind Pandev will be written that he is a European and world champion with Inter, winner of the Scudetto with the “Nerazzurri”, winner of the Cup with three clubs (Lazio, Inter, Napoli), one of the few foreigners with over 450 appearances in Calcio, among 80- Tina football players in Italy with one hundred goals, scorer of the goal for a visa for Euro 2020 in Tbilisi and scorer of the first goal for Macedonia at the European Championships.

Regardless of the final result, the Macedonian football players are the greatest heroes who united the Macedonian nation and restored faith in national football.

EURO 2020 will be written in golden letters in the Macedonian national football team and no matter what happens in the future, it will remain so.

Respect to the guys who made us proud in every sense of the word, made Macedonia break on the European football map, and made every Macedonian proud wherever he lives.

Hats off to all the guys and once again thank you for allowing us to enjoy EURO 2020 with Macedonia.
