There are no vaccines against COVID-19 in Macedonia. Vaccination in the country does not take place at all due to lack of vaccines. For several days now, citizens have been writing on social media that they cannot register on the vaccination site because there are no vaccines. The Minister of Health Venko Filipce does not speak about this problem at all, but calms the public that in a few days 500,000 new vaccines will arrive with which the vaccination process will continue.
Citizens have already traveled to other countries to seek vaccines to get vaccinated.

Vaccination points in Vranje, Nis and Loznica were reopened this weekend for the citizens of Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to Serbian media, so far more than 2,000 people have been vaccinated there free of charge. More than 750 citizens of Macedonia traveled to Vranje this weekend to receive the first dose of vaccine, according to the local health center. So far, 1,105 Macedonians have been vaccinated in this city, some of them received a second dose. The citizens of Macedonia for the Serbian media say that they came to Serbia for vaccination because they want to return to the old normal functioning as soon as possible.
“To protect myself and end this agony with masks.”I had appointments in Macedonia as well, but it is still a bit problematic with the vaccines,” said a citizen.

“First, protection for normal functioning, because for a year and a half we do not function normally, we do not function fully,” said a citizen.
The Minister of Health, Venko Filipce, informed that 500,000 vaccines were ordered soon, which were ordered by the Chinese manufacturer “Sinovak”. They will speed up the vaccination process.
“Another good piece of information is that it is separated as a quantity for our country is in pre-packaged syringes, as it was with the first shipment from Sinofarm. It facilitates the way of giving. I leave a reservation, but I believe that what the company representatives announced will be realized, in the next seven days 500 thousand vaccines will arrive “, said the Minister of Health Venko Filipce in a press statement on 03.06.2021.

– There is no trace or voice of the Russian vaccines “Sputnik”, which were to arrive in Macedonia by the end of May. The Minister of Health Venko Filipche requested information from the Embassy of the Russian Federation why the delivery of the vaccines is late. “Sputnik was announced to arrive at the end of May, but they did not come. Yesterday I talked to the Russian ambassador and he undertook to communicate with the Moscow Institute and give feedback,” said Health Minister Venko Filipce on 01.06.2021 after the visit at the Clinic for Children’s Diseases.

But the opposition also appeals daily that the Minister of Health Venko Filipce and the government itself failed the vaccination, not only that started five months later but also did not procure vaccines for every citizen in the country.
“There are forgotten citizens with rare diseases, transplants, dialysis people who received their vaccination order five months late. Yes, with a five-month delay, because the coronary vaccination of these people in all other countries started at the end of last year, the end of December. And not only that. “Filipce’s vaccination system completely failed,” reads the statement of VMRO-DPMNE.
