The number of infected with Covid-19 is increasing and the number of patients who are hospitalized across the country, is 1082, the hospital facilities are being filled and new ones are being adapted – as of yesterday, the Covid-center of the Traumatology Clinic is in operation. The municipal crisis headquarters are appealing for stricter measures, and the opposition in the Parliament submitted a proposal for interpellation for the Minister of Health Venko Filipce due to poor management of the health crisis and the procurement of vaccines.

In yesterday’s list were registered 999 newly infected from 3627 tests. Twenty-four patients aged 46 to 80 died and 543 were cured. There are 11,889 active cases in the whole country, of which 5,941 in the capital.

The weekly report of the Institute of Public Health shows that in one week (March 8-14) the number of positive cases increased by 22.2 percent compared to the previous week. In this period there were 5456 newly diagnosed from 34 cities, and half of them are in Skopje (2708 or 49.6 percent). The highest weekly incidence is registered in Demir Kapija, and the most common age group of all cases is over 60 years (26.3 percent).

From March 8 to 14, 129 people from 21 cities died, which is 2.3 times more than last week, and 2737 people were healed in this period, which is a decrease of 29.7 percent.

The crisis headquarters of the municipalities are calling for stricter measures and the citizens are required to be very careful and responsible. Due to the alarming situation in Prilep, where the infection is spread by the British strain of the virus and there are 805 active cases, the crisis headquarters in this city asks the Government and the General Crisis headquarters to introduce a curfew at 19:00 and shortened and reduced public transport.

According to the Mayor Ilija Jovanoski, Prilep is the second city in terms of the number of newly infected, after Skopje, and it is worrying that the citizens are irresponsible, they are grouped and many of the infected hide their contacts.

Due to the increased number of infected teachers and students in the classes with physical presence (1-3 grade), from yesterday the primary school “Vlado Tasevski” in the municipality of Karpos was closed and until the end of this month for these students, as well as those from the upper grades, teaching will be online.

Assessing that the health system does not work and that this is the biggest human catastrophe since the Second World War in the country, the VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group proposes that the Parliament discuss the interpellation of Minister Venko Filipce, accusing him of a scandal with the supply of Chinese vaccines and that “more important “are the commissions for vaccines from the life of the citizens.”

– We are the only ones in the world with managing with the corona crisis. Macedonia ranks 118th out of 122 countries in terms of the number of vaccinated. Only Egypt, Uganda, St. Helena and Equatorial Guinea are worse than us. Fifth place, but from behind, said Kiril Pecakov, member of VMRO-DPMNE.

The ruling SDSM retaliated that the opposition party spreads false news and behaves irresponsibly, culminating in constructed cases and a request to recall Filipce, and that due to party interests, it consciously and intentionally damages the reputation of the state.

There is no set date for the mass immunization vaccines. From the shipments “Pfizer” and “Sputnik V” the medical staff is vaccinated and, according to the data of the Ministry of Health, from February 17 to March 15, 5061 health workers were vaccinated.

The Prime Minister Zoran Zaev also admitted his disappointment with the delivery of vaccines from the European Union to our country in an interview with the Luxembourg newspaper “Worth”.

– I would be dishonest if I did not admit that the EU disappointed us with the procurement of corona vaccines. But we were told that at this moment it is impossible for the Union to share the vaccines, said Zaev, who, however, thanked for the EU assistance in the area of ​​loans. He added that we could count on Serbian solidarity for vaccines and that doses were ordered from China and Russia.

According to yesterday’s statistics of the Ministry of Health, the number of people infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic in the country reached 113,929 out of 571,068 tests performed. 3364 people died and 98 676 were healed.
