According to the weekly report of the Institute of Public Health in the period from 1 to 7 March 2021, a total of 21.090 materials were tested in the laboratories where molecular testing and antigen testing for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 is performed, with an increase of 4.6% in compared to last week. 4.463 new positive cases were registered from 35 cities in the country with an increase of 23.0% compared to last week, informs the Ministry of Health.

Most of the registered cases are from Skopje (n = 2.160; 48.3%), with a weekly incidence – 349.7 / 100,000. The highest weekly incidence of 847.9 / 100,000 was registered in Negotino (together with Demir Kapija)
The percentage of positivity in the mentioned period ranges from 13.2 to 26.7%, or an average of 20.9%, 3% more compared to last week.
Infected persons in all age groups are registered. The most common age group is over 60 years (n = 1,026, 23.0%). A large number of patients are registered in the age groups of 30-39 (n = 895; 20.1%), 40-49 (n = 803; 17.8%), 50-59 (n = 778; 17, 4%) and 20-29 (n = 626; 14.0%). The lowest number was registered in children from 0-9 (n = 104; 2.3%) and 10-19 years (n = 231; 5.2%).

After receiving 2 negative tests for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 or using the new algorithm, 3.895 people who were hospitalized or treated at home gained a status of “healed”, an increase of 2.2 times compared to last week.

57 deaths were reported from 16 cities, 17.4% less than last week. In terms of age, 50 people were over 60 years old, 5 people aged 50-59 years and one person in the age groups 30-39 and 40-49 years.
