The Health Commission of VMRO-DPMNE is in constant session due to the situation with the coronavirus. Unfortunately, we came across unfavourable statistic for Macedonia. The country is in the second place in the number of people with coronavirus in the Balkans, according to the number of inhabitants, said Dafina Stojanoska, member of VMRO-DPMNE EC.

– Before us is only Croatia or there are 102 infected per million population, followed by Macedonia with 88 infected per million population. In third place is Montenegro with 83 infected per million inhabitants, Greece is fourth with 71 infected per million inhabitants, and Albania is fifth with 55 infected per million inhabitants. This is followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Out of the infected people in Macedonia, 12 percent are doctors, due to inadequate protection, said Stojanoska, adding:
“The projections and progression of the spread of the virus show trends that are worrying. Expectations are such that everyone must act to protect himself, to protect his family and certainly public health, that is, the health of all citizens.
Hence we suggest:
First, all healthcare professionals to have sufficient amount of protective materials.

Second, to prepare White Plan for the health institutions in the country to prepare for the worst case scenario. This Plan implies capacity building and elaboration of escalation scenario.

Third, mass testing of at-risk groups, returnees from the Diaspora, testing of young people through testing of representative sample of this group, regular testing and planned protection of doctors and healthcare professionals.
Fourth, to organize quarantines with appropriate conditions. ”
VMRO-DPMNE, she underlined, provides support to all medical and health professionals.

-VMRO-DPMNE will support any measure that means more protection. The Government must provide adequate resources for the protection of medical and health professionals. Safety and health care must be provided for everyone, as every life is worth it!
