Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) today on the first day of the regular winter session in Strasbourg has chosen its Monitoring Mission for the parliamentary elections in Macedonia scheduled for 24 of April, reports MIA.


As stated in the document, the elections in Macedonia on 24 of April would be observed by 20 members of PACE, led by Stephen Chennai, the former chairman of the Monitoring Committee.

After ODIHR, this is considered for the most important election observation mission in Europe. ODIHR monitored the previous elections and positively assessed them as democratic and fair.

Otherwise, today for the new chairman of the PA Council of Europe was elected Pedro Agramunt from Spain, friend of Macedonia in the CoE, which will have term of two years.
