State Statistical Office today announced great news.
In the third quarter of this year, unemployment in Macedonia dropped to 25.5 percents.
According to the State Statistical Office, in the III quarter of 2015, the active population in Macedonia was 954 610 persons, out of which employed are 711 380 and 243 230 people were unemployed.
The activity rate in this period is 56.9, the employment rate was 42.4, while the unemployment rate 25.5, according to SSO.
In the second quarter of this year, unemployment stood at 26.8 percents, which means decrease of 1.3 percent.
Unlike historical reducing unemployment during the VMRO-DPMNE, the statistics during the SDSM from 2002 to 2006 was striking. Then unemployment in Macedonia was 38%.
In 2007, after the arrival of the current ruling party, the unemployment rate was reduced to 34.9% and it has been constantly decreasing.
In 2008, unemployment was 33, 8%, in 2009 32.2%, in 2010 was 32%.
In 2011, the unemployment rate in Macedonia was 31.4%, a year later, 31% and for 2013 to be reduced at 29%.
Last year, the unemployment rate in Macedonia was 28% and this year was reached historical reduction in unemployment to 25.5%.
