Croatia fully supports Macedonia on its road to NATO

Macedonia and Croatia are two exceptionally friendly countries that have excellent bilateral cooperation. Croatia continues with full support for Macedonia’s membership in NATO and the European Union. Macedonia is completely ready and has completed the necessary defense processes.

It was concluded by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Jolevski and his Croatian counterpart Ante Kotromanovich at the meeting in the Ministry, as part of the visit of the delegation from the Croatian Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia.

Minister Jolevski after the meeting of the two delegations noted that cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense is great and it is example of the level of bilateral and regional cooperation. Proof of this are signed two documents: Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia and Croatia for the exchange of experts and technical arrangement between the defense ministries of Macedonia and Croatia in the field of military-technical cooperation.

The Agreement on military-technical cooperation to enable experts armed forces of Croatia to perform calibration of measuring instruments of the Army helicopters and technical review and Croatian pilots some time to be able to use simulators at the Center for pilot training in Macedonia. With this agreement, technical maintenance, which costs around 40,000 euro, is paid to the use of simulators in the Center.

Minister Kotromanovich reaffirmed support for Macedonia’s membership in NATO and added that bilateral relations are particularly developed. “I am here to point out two things – our bilateral relations are excellent and so are ready for even greater development of military-technical cooperation. Also, I would like to confirm that Croatia is strong supporter of Macedonia’s membership in NATO, something that should have happened years ago,” said Minister Kotromanovich.
