SPC will discuss extending the dialogue with MOC

Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Holy Assembly of Bishops that begins today in Studenica and continues tomorrow in Belgrade, should discus resuming dialogue with the Macedonian Orthodox Church.

As informs Tanjug, at the agenda will probably be letter that MOC sent to SPC for  recovering the stalled negotiations for overcoming their differences.

According to church sources, a problem in the mutual communication are requirements as set out both sides, which, as assessed , should be decrease to reach the continuation of dialogue.

Senior SPC repeatedly declared that condition for the resumption of negotiations with the MOC is the release of Jovan Vranishkovski, which in Macedonia is serving prison sentence for financial fraud.

Recently two high officials of SOC Timothy and Pimen said they have nothing against Vranishkovski to be pardoned and freed if it helps to continue the dialogue with the Serbian Church.

Synod of the Orthodox Church yesterday held meeting which as it was reported, did not adopted any decision on the Vranishkovski.

Macedonian bishops expect concrete step of SPC for continuing dialogue for the church open question. Synod of the Orthodox Church last month sent letter to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Serbian Irenaeus and Russian Cyril expressing desire to resume negotiations and to move the situation regarding the status of the MOC.
