General Secretary of the Greek Ministry of Justice George Surlas asked the president of Transparency International Greece, Constantinos Bacouris, to intervene in the Transparency International in order to “neighboring country to be called the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”.

Surlas requires urgent intervention, because Transparency International “allowed its branch in the neighboring country to be called Transparency International Macedonia”, and according to him it is unacceptable the name “Macedonia” to stand on a map of the organization.

As an argument for this claim Surlas cites the UN resolution on Macedonia’s accession to the World Organization and the interim agreement under which “the temporary name of the neighboring country is the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”.
