Macedonian and the French Ministry of Internal Affairs begin training dedicated to the fight against trafficking in counterfeit drugs, realized by the experts of the French gendarmerie.
Minister of Internal Affairs Gordana Jankulovska stressed that the training will bring a new quality of operation of services, indicating that more attempts of importing counterfeit medicines in Macedonia are observed, mostly from Kosovo.
– 719 packages of various drugs without stamps from Kosovo are seized in 2013, while 3,952 tablets packaged in different ways were seized in 2012, Jankuloska said.
French Ambassador to Macedonia Laurence Auer said that there is excellent cooperation between the two Ministries of Internal Affairs and annually about a dozen trainings are realized.
– The purpose of this training is to give more operational guidance to Macedonian institutions in this field, the Ambassador added.
She noted that the trade in counterfeit drugs is on the rise in France.
The training, which will last three days, will be visited by officials from the of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, as well as customs officials.
