Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski at today’s opening of the 11th International Fair of Construction indicated that construction and real estate sector grew by 33 percent last year.

– It shows that the construction industry had an incredibly important role in the growth of the Macedonian economy and it is no coincidence. It is triggered by many measures, activities and actions made by the private sector and government in order to support the construction activity and investment in the sector, Stavreski said.

He added that € 365 million are allocated from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia for 2014 for the realization of capital investments, such as construction of roads, hospitals, schools, sports facilities etc.

– We’re pleased to note that many Macedonian companies are involved in the realization of capital projects financed from the budget, but also that many companies took the opportunity to build residential buildings or other facilities in the premises, that due to the good starting price of land, the simplicity of obtaining building permits and the opportunity for reinvestment, represents a strong impetus for the construction and development of the economy, Stavreski said.

Along with Construction Fair, the fourth Real estate Fair RealExpo was opened today. The Director, Daniela Gligorovska noted that the International Trade Fair for Construction is a prestigious event which includes the best companies and offers express solutions to complex situations in all related areas.
