– Construction activities for construction of the Technological Industrial Development Zone in the municipality started today in Rankovce on area of 40 hectares.

18 building plots arranged in two blocks are planned to be built in this zone, and the government will invest about € 12 million for construction of internal road infrastructure, water supply, sewerage and telecommunications infrastructure.

Technological Industrial Development Zone is located in an attractive location on Corridor 8 among the cities Kumanovo and Kriva Palanka, 40 kilometers away from the border crossing Deve Bair to neighboring Bulgaria, 50 kilometers from the border Tabanovce with Serbia.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Vice Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Peshevski and the Directorate of Technological Industrial Development Zones CEO Viktor Mizo attended the placing of cornerstone.

– The location of the zone is not accidentally chosen. Nearby towns of the northeast part of the country are home of many people who can meet the needs and requirements of investors. The borders with Serbia and Bulgaria are nearby, and the airport “Alexander the Great” is about 70 kilometers away, the Corridor 8 passes nearby as well, there is the highway and railway line to Bulgaria. It provides an opportunity to potential investors to connect and to be able to export with quick and efficient transportation to their desired destination, Gruevski said.

According to him, the benefits of the construction of the TIRZ are multiple because the construction zone means a prerequisite for new investment and creating new jobs.

The Prime Minister announced that the Government will continue to invest in areas in road and rail infrastructure in future and to present Macedonia as a favorable business destination because this approach produces results.

– More important world companies are already operating in Macedonia. Some of them decided for second investment, the interest in new investments is large, Gruevski stressed.

According to the Vice Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Peshevski there is no better way to show concern for the people than to create jobs.

– In times of economic crisis, one of the ways for its mitigation is the creation of conditions for these investors to open new factories and plants where people will find jobs, Peshevski said.

So far two zones in Skopje and Stip are operating, and construction activities in the zones in Kicevo, Gevgelija, Prilep, Strumica and Bitola are ongoing. Radovish, Struga, Delcevo, Vinica and Berovo are at the stage of preparation of documents for construction.
