Customs thwarts marijuana smuggling

 The Customs Administration thwarted two attempts for smuggling of marijuana worth over EUR 200,000.

In the first case, two Macedonian nationals attempted to take the narcotics out of the country at border crossing Medzitlija.

“About 30kg of marijuana were hidden in the roof of passenger vehicle. The value of the seized drugs is estimated at approximately EUR 200,000”, said Customs Administration director Vanco Kargov on Wednesday.

Later in the day, Customs mobile units thwarted a marijuana smuggling attempt at Tabanovce border crossing. The drugs, worth about EUR 10,000, was hidden in plastic bottles in the vehicle’s tank. Two Polish nationals have been detained.
