The Johnson Matthey Company set the foundation stone for the manufacturing sector on its location for the new catalyzing plant in the free economic zone of Bunardzik.

The director of  the Direction for Technological Industrial Developmental Zones, Viktor Mizo, was the first to point out the enormous importance of this investment.

-This means that the Company found fertile soil for leading a business. By investing another 60 million euros in Macedonia, Johnson Matthey became the biggest investor with a total amount of 120 million euros. We expect the import to double. The Company recognized the devotion of the Government for development of the industrial zones, said Mizo.

Johnson Matthey manufactures one third of the catalyzers in the world. The plant with a great importance in the world industry makes a new investment in Macedonia.

The executive director of the sector for Environmental Technologies in Johnson Matthey, Larry Pentz, pointed out that it was his honor to announce a second investment in Macedonia.

He reminded that 6 million catalyzers have been manufactured in the automobile industry since 2010. The products are manufactured by the latest modern technologies, by devoted employees.

-Products of highest quality can be manufactured in Macedonia. This investment will provide 100 new employments; we will face the challenges and opportunities. We are proud of the success of the sector in Macedonia, as a witness of the British outturn in the region, and for that I thank the Prime Minister Gruevski for his dedication, said Pentz.

The Prime Minister Gruevski, who laid the foundation stone with Pentz on the new plant location, pointed out that the plans for a better business climate in this country have come true, which will be used to attract new investments.

-The new drive will need new employments of around 500 people. The Company is currently number one exporter in this country, and now it will expand even further. Johnson Matthey is an excellent partner of the Government and the institutions. They suggest measures and policies that are good for them, but also for other companies. They don’t hesitate to share good experiences with other foreign investors that are thinking about investing in Macedonia, said Gruevski with gratitude for this collaboration.

Gruevski pointed out that the Government policies will continue to rely on the strategic partnership, the business leading strategy and promotion of Macedonia as an attractive business destination will also continue. The results can be seen on set, said the Prime Minister, adding that 6 years ago on that same place was nothing but a big meadow, and today there are several factories and preparations for new investments. –This means that things are going in the right direction, said the Prime Minister.

-This is the second major company that decides to reinvest in Macedonia. That means that the company is happy with the first investment, the Government collaboration, the climate and other business leading conditions. I hope that will be an inspiration for other investors, said Gruevski.

Present on the location was the UK Ambassador to Macedonia Christopher Yvon, representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and citizens.
